This page will explain, in laymen terms, what each mod difficulty means.
Mod difficulties are listed at the top of each consoles main page.
NOVICE
Most softmod guides will be listed under the novice level of difficulty, as most softmods are easy to install, some can be reverted or have recovery options if a mistake is made. This does not mean you’re in the clear however, so pay attention to any potential warnings that are in the guide, and always follow it verbatim.
Anyone dipping their feet into console modding is suggested to follow along with novice guides for starts, before moving on to more in-depth guides or guides that require modifications to the internal hardware.
INTERMEDIATE
It’s not your high school algebra test on finals week, but intermediate guides will require a great deal of skill and understanding. You may find a simple mistake in these guides could lead to irreparable consequences, so be absolutely careful and follow the instructions implicitly!
Advanced
You’re not building a bomb, but the complexities of ADVANCED guides may elude anyone who is not already well versed in the intricacies of console modding. If you’re new to console modding, it is suggested that you steer clear of these guides until you have had some time studying the novice or intermediate guides.
Most of the guides in this catagory will require the use of soldering tools and may require modification of internal hardware components.
